MANnerisms: #2 Winston Churchill’s Real Lesson To Us

One of my favorite historical figures and certainly a big hero of mine is Winston Churchill. I’ve been to his birthplace and to his gravesite, been to his underground war offices in London and listened to his speeches.

So Why does this man hold such appeal for me?

It’s very simple actually. I realized very early on that perhaps his most famous quote of: “Never, never, never give up.” is really all we need to know in order to get the life we want.

As men, we are faced with many occasions everyday where giving up on our dreams of financial success, personal freedom, and becoming the honorable man we’ve always wanted to be would be the easy choice. Where giving up on finding/keeping the woman of our dreams would be the easy way out. Where not knowing how to deal with a midlife crisis makes us think life is over.

But greatness, your greatness as a man, is fired in the heat of battle, not in the cold of mediocrity. And that really is all we need to keep in mind. Successful

No one has ever said it more clearly. No one has ever said it better. And now I’m saying it to you: “Never, Never, Never Give Up.”

    Caught your Tweet

I am a fellow admirer of Churchill to the extent that I spent 4 years researching him for a book called “What Churchill Would Do”

It takes his WW2 talents and applies them to modern business from the perspective of a normal working person.

I believe he has a lot to offer the business person of today

    • Thanks Stuart. We have a lot of men interested in Churchill, so let us all know more about the book – is it out there? Cheers and KBO.

Apologies a bit slow to respond.

I published What Churchill Would do on Amazon in November 10.

It is available on Kindle amd has been in the top 10 Churchill books all year in the UK. Currently no 2

It can be bought as a book on Amazon. I like the kindle format as it allows people to download the 1st 2 chapters free to see if the like it before parting with any cash.

It is more Churchill WW2 history than pure business but people who’ve read it tell me it makes them think about work.
