I don’t normally use outside video here on the thinktankmen.com blog, however this one is worth it.
Acclaimed actor Kevin Spacey’s comments here about success apply to all of us not just the young actors who he is addressing.
There are a few points that need to be highlighted because they are absolute gold:
1) You have to know WHY you’re doing something or you’ll continue to flounder
2) There is no prize waiting for you “out there” – the prize in life is inside you (that’s where happiness comes from)
3) Whoever you are, for whatever you want to accomplish and be in this world, desire alone is not enough, you must know WHY
4) You must dedicate everything you have, every fiber of your being to your journey (your personal mission)
5) Be open to unexpected teachers and moments of learning, whether you’re young, in midlife or midlife crisis, or nearer the end of your life
